hey i have no clue how damascus steel is made, but what are the lines and how are they formed on the blade? some also have different shapes!? im just into knives and would like to know more about it! thxs :) and nice work

@cschmiedlechner they are made by welding two diffrent types of steel toghter in the forge and then you dipp the blade in acid. and the acid will eat up the steel with most carbon in it faster then the other and thats is how it is made

@Cherbanov thanks for the reply!! i see, by welding you mean like stacking them up and hammering them together when heated...so when u see the damascus blade itself you the the side of the stack?

@cschmiedlechner correct its the stack side you see as a pattern in the blade. and depending on how you deform the sides of the stack, you then get diffrent patterns

@MrElmataviejas it is not a crake its just a fault in one weld. but yes this one was my firt ever try on patternwelding and its not a product for sale. just a try out piece
