Taking my sister and her family for a ride on an old Soviet T-55 tank at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. Home of the Spruce Goose.

  • i would also like to fly an Apache but i think that would be expensive if not illegal lol

  • Yeah, the Russians aren't so big on rules- if you've got enough money, they'll let you do just about anything!

    :P

  • that sucks about the clutch.i would also ride in a typhoon, how much do you think that would be

  • Yeah, flying supersonic down some canyon at low altitide in a typhoon would be incredible! You'd probably have to wait for a few decades for them to become out of service and someone buys one and takes people up in it for a fortune!

    :D

  • i wanna ride in a hind that would be cool too

  • That would be so fun! If I had a ton of money I'd be tempted to go to Russia & pay the $10,000 to get to fly in something like a Mig-29. Since they don't have enough money to fly enough training missions they let people pay for flights so the pilots get the training, you get to fly with them & pay for the gas!

    :P

    Anyway I bet for $2,000 they'd give a ride in a Hind!

We just had the tank rides again last Saturday but the clutch was broken so they had to pull it behind a tractor!

    :(

  • that would be alot of fun

  • Oh!!! That would be so cool to have a Tiger- for that matter even a little Panzer II would still be great! But yeah, I could imagine you'd get some complaints from the jerk neighbors!!!

    : )

  • LOL! It's easy to mix them up unless you get a good picture! From the T-34 on the Soviet tanks all have a very similar appearance!

When they started the Evergreen Museum, after bringing in the Spruce Goose, I joined as a member, so I get to take part in stuff all the time, though moving back to the coast put me 170 miles away! Still I stay a member & come back for some stuff.

  • T-55, not T-34, sorry lol.

That is so cool! You're so lucky, did that cost anything? How did you get to do that? I bet it was fun!

I know somewhere near me is a Tiger Tank, and I was hoping to get it for my graduation project, but there are several reasons why I scratched that idea...

If my neighbors called the cops because we had toy guns on OUR property... how would they react to a REAL Nazi tank in the neighborhood streets? And that gets like a half a mile of Diesel to the gallon!
