Hi! On August 29, 2009 our miniature horse "Piggly Wiggly" went into labor at 4:00 in the morning. This was our first experience with miniature horse foaling... We thought we'd share it with you and let you learn right along side us! Here is part two. The actual birth. Please rate and leave a comment if you'd like to see part 3 "Baby's First Steps". Thanks for watching!

  • Wtg on ur fill btw helpful hint if u breed her again watch out during the stage when the head is out and the ne k is coming becuase if momma moves too much she can accidently injure the foal thats its most vunrable stage

  • Thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind for the next one!!

  • Hehe. Lovely foal! Grats! Could hear such excitement in you two. Nice easy birth. Must not have been a first? SO colt or filly? It hung at 6:56 just after mom came out of that typical 5min hypnotic state and jumped up. All looked text book perfect presentation!

  • Thank you!! It was a very nice and easy birth...thankfully! Actually this was her first foaling, but she acted as if she has done this for years! It's a filly!! She is doing wonderful and we named her Nehi Crescent Moon. She has knee high socks and the tiniest crescent moon right between her eyes. We will be posting her first steps soon!

  • Oh ya...she also has two blue eyes!
