The Waves braid is the design that I have been teaching beginners since I started teaching ply-splitting workshops in 1999. It is from Peter Collingwood's 1998 book "The Techniques of Ply-Split Braiding", where two variations are shown in Plate 20. Peter's description of how to make the braid is on pages 77-78. The structure is single-course oblique twining (SCOT).
Instructions for this braid are also in my booklet, "Great SCOT! A Beginner's Guide to Ply-Split Braids in Single-Course Oblique Twining". Both of these books, as well as cords, kits and tools, are available through my website, www.lindahendrickson.com.
This is the first in a series of instructional videos on ply-split braids that John and I are planning. Subscribe to my channel to be notified when we upload new videos
Very helpful! Thanks Linda
