A lot of people haven't experienced what it's like on the Shinkansen. Let me tell you, that train is seriously fast! I was on the Hikari. The Nozomi was the fastest of the time (the Kodama being the slowest) and next year they will came out with an even faster one but it doesn't have a cool Japanese name, booooo. Basically the Kodama(means echo) stops at all stations, the Hikari(means light) stops at fewer stations and the Nozomi(means hope) stops at on the important statious. Anyway, it goes pretty fast, some 280km/hr and this travels on the surface! Pretty cool I'd say.

  • Hmmm, well I'm 100% sure that I take the Hikari from Kyoto station to Tokyo and back again. I've ridden it many times. I didn't ride this train to Shin-Osaka, but this is Kyoto station.

  • hikari rail star is for sanyo shinkansen(hakata-shin osaka) only

so this train is impossible to go to kyoto.utmost go to shin osaka only
