Evolution is very much a fact. You might be confusing it with what is called the modern evolutionary synthesis which describes by which means evolution operates.
I'm a bit of a biology nerd and it pisses me off how little most people seem to know about evolution- no, "survival of the fittest" is not a good representation of it!
Well, about the show.. I watched Lain like 3-4 years ago and I didn't like it. Then I started using Linux and custom-building computer and now I love SEL because it's a sort of "I was there!" feeling.
I've never seen the English version though so I can't really comment on that, but the Japanese version is good.
"Then I started using Linux" I think there might be a correlation there since, well, I've been wanting to convert to linux for a long time. I've used linux, and the only thing that was stopping me was that the program I used to program, wasn't linux compatible. Now I've been learning how to use a program that's linux compatible
As for English vs. Japanese, I normally love the English versions, but I like the subbed of this series. It's more genuine feeling, and reading the subs sets the mood
Do you mean a correlation between those that like a show about a nerd that spends all her time on the computer and nerds that spend all their time on the computer? Yeah, I guess there might be some correlation there :)
But it's cool to hear that you're thinking about using Linux full-time, just out of curiosity what was the incompatible program?
I haven't seen the English version like I said but I tend to like the Japanese version better and the Japanese actors are really good
Oh hell yeah the Japanese actors are good, but even if the American actors were better, I would still like the subbed version because it set/kept the mood. Also, I've seen both, and the Japanese script was well written while the American version was choppy and forced. Of coarse dubbing can be challenging
The program that wasn't compatible was game maker, but I've been learning C++ and python which I think are compatible. At least I hope, when I get my main comp back, I'll get Linux setup. :D

Oh, and Lain would also win on hawtness :P
