@MissLeigh78 Or New Hampshire where I happen to be from. . . Probably confused by that marvelous southern accent in this movie . . . Maine being so close to Dixie . . .

yeah it's not a great adaptation, but it's not like the book was Shakespeare either. It's more of that tripe where an author writes about an author writing, ooh, big stretch...

@showerpwner I haven't read that story but I was once in a house in Louisiana that was supposedly haunted. It had a long central hallway. It was supposedly haunted by the man who built the house. His granddaughter and her husband lived in it and all sorts of things happened while they were renovating it. One thing was this: they had pictures of george (the grandfather) and his wife in the hall. One night they woke up and the pictures were talking to each other.

I haven't seen this since 1997 and I gotta admit I'm impressed by the photography. There's some pretty strong compositions and lighting schemes in this movie even though the adaptation's poor. Funny, you can kinda tell an early 90s movie aesthetic, almost no matter what company is involved. Pet Sematary was shot in 1989 and has a distinctly late-80s aesthetic, this was shot in 1991 and has a distinctly early 90s one. Two years, a whole lot of difference.

@daspikia READ THE BOOK! yes the finger prints are identical, that's part of the reason why it's so strange. king is trying to show you how they are impossibly alike, after all stark did come from thad. btw, out of all the things that happen in this movie/book, that's what you decide to get your panties in a bunch over? LOL!

@LeavesNoTrace Ha, and in Misery it was an axe changed to a sledgehammer. Both alterations seemed to pack more of a punch IMO.
Yep, you can't get much more southern than Maine...
LMAO

I hear what you're saying, but it's a small southern town. Things are done a bit differently. People know each other more personally and from childhood .. trust is a big factor and benefit of the doubt.
