2007 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Feature Photography was awarded to Renée C. Byer of The Sacramento Bee for her intimate portrayal of a single mother and her young son as he loses his battle with cancer.
This video is a tribute to her work, and in memory of Derek.

I lost my brother from cancer the weekend after thanksgiving. I'm still grieving, but I can't imagine the pain my mother went thru just like you did with Derek. God bless you.

i am a new mom and aplaude this woman for her strength through this whole ordeal. i know for a fact that i could never have that much strangth. my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
