  • This display of skill is what 99% of musicans wish they could play like live! No dubbing in those days! This track has taken me through marriage, divorce, pregnancy and life's ups and downs. It's simply wonderful. X

  • Steve Hackett is great on this. Darryl shreds too much and does not have the emotion that Steve extracts from his guitar. I'm not saying Darryl is not good. He is very good. Just that Hackett is more melodic due to his Classical style where Darryl is more of a Jazz style Guitarist. Incredible performance. Thanks Tommygun.

  • @chungiemunchin I pretty much agree with you except Phil actually had a smoother voice. Phil just did not sing with the emotion and story telling during later concerts doing Peter era songs. Peter had a brilliant way with theatrics and emotional power especially Supper's Ready, The Musical Box,Firth Of Fifth, Cinema Show and Dancing With The Moonlit Knight among countless others. Phil saved the group, but after W&W Prog was dead and they went for the cash.

  • If you want to hear "the real" Genesis, go to Musical Box when they portray the Peter Gabriel era. As far as I am concerned, Phil Collins is a terrible front man compared to Peter. I would have had more respect for Genesis if they had broken up when Peter left. If they preferred to play more after that, better had done under a different name and line up altogether. As it is, they turned out to be the fake Genesis with a second rate front man.

  • I loved Phil Collins' drumming with the early Genesis (the one with Peter Gabriel in it). However, when Phil Collins started singing Peter's parts as lead vocalist, I developed a hatred for him. This was especially true when P.C. put out his first solo cd. The selling out had begun. The amazing lengths to which Genesis would go to sell out their musical integrity so that they could make hit records was sickening. Putting it another way, P.C. ain't no Peter Gabriel nor ever can be.

  • At 5:50 when Hackett flips the selector switch on his Les Paul... that's when the power pours out & passes right through bodies

The phenomena of electricity...in the right musical hands & the entire orchestra is no longer necessary to feel the power

  • Fucking great.

  • Although I prefer the Peter Gabriel era, Phil sings this song quite well if not even better. Mike's incredible bass pedals, Steve's beautiful melodic riff's. Tony's virtuoso key's.Phil's powerful yet soft voice.Chester and Phil's awesome and time keeping drumming. Truly an awesome group if not the best ever. They were always incredible live.

  • The use of bass pedals during this time frame of Genesis live was beyond belief. Saw them many times in the 70's and every time left feeling like I just witnessed something so few will ever experience. watching it here is good but to see them live was just holy.

  • @SwedxSimon02 Not this kid or man now!

  • @smartcatxxx I agree! A SYMPHONY FOR THE SOUL!
