  • I feel sorry for you for owning a Ford. My ex'es mate had a 1.25 16v 1998/S Encore that broke down twice second time was terminal at 75,000 miles. Then my mate Daz had a 1997/R 1.25 Zetec that just conked out terminally with no explanation and now my other mates 2000/W 1.25 Zetec has just gone to the scrapheap for the zetec engine giving up terminally. And even if you do get a reliable cockroach that doesn't give up, being a Ford it just rusts away to fail an MOT for good anyway.

  • @1ns4ne1d10t Mines currently got 125,000 miles on it, i paid £495 and it had recent exhaust, clutch and new welded in sill on the nearside, its never once let me down, I bought it after having to part with my 1988 Volvo 740 saloon that had and original 43,000 miles on it... now that was a car! Though i have to admit the later editions of the mark 4 fiesta ( V, W, X , Y , 51 Reg) before going to the mark 5 were thrown together, thin carpets, lack of sound insulation, gear linkages rough as hell,

  • @1700iDiGuy Don't get me wrong Fords of 1995-2000 managed to pull off good looks (Not a patch on Fiat or Alfa IMO) but they have never nailed down quality or comfort much. Mk4 Fiestas always rusted, had noisy ancient running gears, the bodywork was like a tin can, the gearboxes were always shakey and rough and the 16v Zetec engines were never exactly peaches on fuel consumption.

  • @1ns4ne1d10t I have noticed from earlier on in owning my fiesta that the fuel consumption is not very good, as a matter of fact even the 1.8 non turbo diesel has very poor mileage per gallon.

  • Very Well Looked After Car Looking To Buy One My Self!

  • @supercooldude1001 They're good cars, i know ford has and does get a bad wrap by some people, but i have to honestly say that i used to be one of those people until i bought one myself, and i have not even had a momentst trouble with it, (except the time where i killed the battery when i accidently parked up and left the headlights on, only to return 7 hours later to a battery that just about turned the engine over before giving up! 4 mile drive home and the battery is charged again.

  • @1700iDiGuy Someone I worked with had a 5 door Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V with all the kit. Fog lights, sunroof, remote central locking, electric windows and alloys its a lovely car I would buy it off him if he sells it. Apart from being viciously nippy it was amazing on unleaded it was so economical you could speed all day and it would still put fuel back in the tank like it hasn't lost anything. It was almost half the fuel consumption of your average 1.25 Fiesta... unbelievable.

  • @1700iDiGuy My friend who had the 2000/W 1.25 16v who now doesn't have a car put £25 of unleaded in his fiesta when it was almost 1/4 tank but just off the reserve light because we went on an 80 mile trip to go camping at a fireworks display and it used the entire £20 plus it ran back on the reserve by the time we got back. I used to have a Ford Connect 1.8 TD which is the same endura diesel engine and that was very poor milage for a diesel. I worked it out as 35-38 MPG on a careful run.

  • @fillecool2 the fiesta is a 1996 the ka is 1998

  • @1700iDiGuy Yeah, it looks very nice eventhough its a 98
