This Restoration of an M4A3 Sherman is being done by the Museum of the American G.I. located in College Station, Texas.

This video shows how we remove the rear idlers and eccentrics, clean and restore them, and replace them back on the tank, good as new.

The Museum of the American G.I. is a living history museum in Texas, and the President, Brent Mullins, has built the collection of WW2 Military Vehicles into one of the finest in the United States. With a passion for authenticity, he makes sure the restorations are accurate, and done to the best possible standards.

  • @goarmy979 If it really IS a Sherman firefly, it's worth more than the property it's sitting on. Do something about it.

  • I want a Sherman Tank

  • @Agomongo1235 No they didnt. The engine in this tank is the original. Its a GAA, which is not found in cars. The other type of engines they used in shermans were radial (airplane) engines, or detroit diesel engines. You ARE correct that some tanks did run on smaller cadillac engines, like the Stuart and the Chaffee, but not the Sherman.

  • @agwrangler i know it was a joke but in real life shermans did run on car engine

  • @Agomongo1235 it is surely NOT easy to find the engine for this tank. There isn't a car that I know of that hasan 1,100 cbuic inch GAA inside.......

  • @JPacheco91 yes, it surely is. :)
