Yes, I'm not a researcher. But I advise you read a research report written by someone with a PhD. Like I said, you don't know enough to comment. If you did, you would be arguing on the correct side of the argument. So read the report.
Staff was allowed to at times in some schools, especially in high crime areas. It's just not publicized to the students.... that would open another can of worms.
Denmark is a lot smaller and a LOT less ethnically diverse than the USA.
"If guns are actually AT school doesn't that make it easier for the shooters to find a gun?"
Can you name a single premeditated school shooting spree in ANY nation, ANYwhere, anyWHEN, in which the shooter didn't bring his (or her) own gun but instead used one that s/he happened to find there?
To answer your middle question: security guards, plus other well-trained adults.
We have only EVER had one school shooting in my country and guns were NEVER allowed in schools here. And if guns were allowed in schools who'd have them? The teachers? The janitor? A security guard? If guns are actually AT school doesn't that make it easier for the shooters to find a gun?
The point is simply this: even people who have "snapped" or are in the throes of hypermania (the specific mental illness at the root of most such incidents — itself a KNOWN side-effect of SSRI psychotropic pharmaceuticals such as Luvox® [Eric Harris of Columbine], Zoloft®, etc.) are still sane enough to know that their best chance of taking lots of people with them are where people are guaranteed to be defenseless — where guns are banned.
