How loud can this thing get in the 36w mode?

Sounds like your clone amp makes a lot of noise unwanted power noise. Maybe the pick ups on that guitar have a bad ground...I own a 1987x and get a similar noise when I use my Gibson 1959 reissue melody maker...If I use my V guitar with JB pick ups the noise is gone. The same if I use my other guitar with an active EMG 81.., My Gibson is very noisy vs others with name brand pick ups.

Hey there! GREAT playing! where did you get the white plexi headshell for the ceriatone?
-
Hello. It is a clone?
Where did you get the forms? Want to make a head for final project and I need schema for this? Can you help me?
Thank you. Respects

Cool old vintage tones. Cool. Like your playing as well.

It's not point to point, i'd say it's most likely turret-board. Not all hand wired amps are point to point. just an FYI.

very cool amp. I gigged with a guy that had one tonight and was intrigued when I saw a marshall clone with a quartet of el-84.

you need to clean that pickguard

@retroaficionado I use a MXR micro amp w/ my Vox ac4 and its a great way to "click" for different volumes.

dude, the way to pronounce the "C" in the "Ceriatone" word is "C" as in the word "Chime" and not "C" as in "Cinema"....got what I mean?.....and the word means "Happy Tone".....nway...great demo....I'm form Malaysia and proud of our products....
Thanks Retro! I never thought of that! I grew up with channel switching head and would LOVE to be able to have a Plexi type amp and your thoughts on the pickup selector would work except with my PRS< :( Might need a 1 meg neck tone pot. Thanks! How could you do this with an A/B box????
Also, is this the best Plexi clone? How about a Voodoo V Plex? THANKS!

@richedie You could do this with an EQ pedal from Boss as well, or a standard overdrive pedal. This amp has 2 inputs and 2 separate volumes for each channel, as well as a post phase inverter master volume on the second channel, for distortion. Best plexi clone 18 or 36 watter I have played is by Hoagland amps.

Problem with not have a separate clean channel is good luck changing to the clean tone on the fly in the middle of a song.

@richedie - actually this is not a problem, you set the neck pickup volume for 5, and your bridge pickup at full volume. Or - with an amp that is set up correctly, you should be able to play gently and get clean tones, and then by just picking harder, you will get full distortion. Or - you just buy an overdrive pedals, ala a Ibanez ts9 and step on that to give you the little bit more gain on the front end to distort the amp. Or since this amp has two inputs, 2 channels you just buy an AB box.

@richedie Actually, now that I watched this again, the pickup switch is how I get distortion. At the end when I talk about the volume knob you can hear me flip the Neck Pickup switch to the Bridge and get full distortion. This is the reason why guitars have independent volumes for the pickups, and a switch to go between. Hendrix, Angus Young, Clapton, and Jimmy Page also used the pickup selector in this way.

I got the wired chassis damaged in the mail, for around $400 and repaired it retubed it, it is built like a tank. Got a box for around $100 used.
