  • A nice tub of free delicious spuds for sure.

  • @lifeinthailand Yep & taste good too... Hanging out to try them in a Massaman this weekend...

    Have a good one...

  • Mmm, mmm, MMMM! Love them taters.

Now to a very important question. How many blue containers would you need to feed a family of 4 year round. Including Winter. In case of a collapse of society. Presuming the Potatoes are the base of the meal and you have add-ons like carrots and onions and some Chicken or Rabbit meat.

IMHO, I think there are a lot of people asking this question.

  • @TheSunergizer I really couldn't answer that one sorry... This is the first year we have planted out potatoes ½ seriously & I don't think we have picked the highest yielding varieties... In the event of SHTF scenario I would be planting them in the ground & making certain I had access to a root cellar... We don't grow in the ground here due to our land being terraced off with soil filled with "undesirable" waste from the past 100 years or so...

Sorry I couldn't give you a more accurate response.

  • That was some good looking soil you have there..

  • @Teddybearcop48 Thanks... Is a mix of Coconut coir, screened horse manure & left over bits from the yard...

    have a good one..

  • @Veggiepatchinperth Not to certain.. Have only harvested these & some unknown shop bought variety so far... From what we have pulled from the bags & barrel I would say that they are not a high yielding variety compared to the other we have harvested but am still very happy with the results... The flavour & texture was great though... Made excellent potato & beetroot salad.. The Dutch cream will have a higher yield.. The Kipflers are the ones I really want to get into : D»

  • @Watsamadoing No problem.. I'm hanging out to get into the Kipflers...
