This is my first multitrack video. Use
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ28h_ybzgg&fmt=18
for high quality (480p)*.

It is my own arrangement of Happy Birthday. The lowest note is a D2, the highest one is a G4. I recorded only the second half of the song, because I was too lazy to do the rest, right now.

And no: I am not smoking---it was just very cold in the practice room.

The video quality is not very good, because I used the video mode of a digital camera to record it.

* = Even with high quality YouTube adds some strange noise to it. You can get a high quality mp3 at

  • TOP HATS ARE COOL

  • @gifted97 Glad you like it! You'd probably enjoy the videos of YouTube user "faireset". He wears a top hat in all of his videos, I think :).

  • Not to criticize, but I think the lowest note might be a G2, not a D2. If the lowest note was the final note where the bass was going down the G triad with D3, B2, G2. It's really awesome that you did this, though. I'm hoping to put up some multitrack a cappellas myself.

  • @Jefman513 Thanks, I'm glad you like it. My arrangement is in G major. The lowest note I'm singing (D2) is the root of the dominant chord of that key (D major), the highest one (G4) is root of the tonic (G major).

The final chord contains the G4 I mentioned in the video info (and also a G2 in the bass, as you assumed). The D2 I was talking about is not part of the last chord. It's the root of the second to last one (dominant).

And yes, I you should give multitracking a try---it's super fun!

  • top right... is it cold out?

  • Oh yes, it was (as it says in the description). There was no heater in the room and it was way too cold for not wearing a coat. But I was willing to suffer to do an entertaining video :).

  • Thank you! I planned to hold a sparkler on one of the parts, but unfortunately I forgot and I don't want to re-record it, because I was freezing in that room :).
