'Obamamania' in France - Nov 3 2008

If it were up to the French, Barack Obama would win the US elections with a landslide. Recent surveys in France put him well ahead of John McCain in the popularity stakes. Mark Seddon reports from Paris.

The U.S. also pushed for, and succeeded in limiting Japan's navy to half the size of the U.S. navy. The U.S. was on good terms with Japan right up to the very hour Pearl Harbor was bombed.

The U.S. funded the nazi party before WWII and in turn more or less we created our own problems with hitler. We also did not attempt to maintain peaceful relations with the japanese which provoked action on their part. So yes we did provide for the war but quite possibly the war could have never happened

Americans have created too many great luxuries to be called intelectually inferior by a country with a severely failing economy and an atrocious unemployment rate. Many people's salaries in France are even less than whats given to the unemployed per month.

They should instead be thanking us while riding in our airplanes, using our internet, and oh yeah, enjoying their freedom from Axis powers in WWII.

Eh, no problem, my Canadian pal. If it makes you feel any better, I've always seen Canada as America's younger brother: born 93 years apart (5 or 6 in nation yrs), and with one having an odd-yet-very-lovable penchant for Tim Horton's. (The other, sadly, is a stress eater: all these years under Bush made a bad problem WORSE. Trust me!! My credit card bill proves it!!)

maybe americans generally dont obtain a level of education that is standard in other countries throughout the world but you should open your mind a little bit and stop stereotyping people

it would be conservative to say that 80% of americans need an education. Also 80% of Canadians.

you should watch what you say about "americans" needing an education...that is a gross overstatement. there are vast amounts of intelligent people hear who do not conform to your ignorant assumption
