(SIOUX CITY, IA) As a kid, many of us set--up lemonade stands, hoping to make a little cash. Elementary school students camped out Friday in two locations selling lemonade. These were not your ordinary lemonade sellers.

These kids took a week long camp learning the ins and outs of running a business. This camp is part of a nationwide event called Lemonade Days. The Midtown Family hosted the camp at the Family Community Center for the first time in Iowa.

It gets young minds thinking early about the process before making that dough. It was boys against girls that hit the streets to reach a goal and beat the competition.

"They have 9 ounce cups. We have 16 ounce cups," said young entrepreneur, Chase Stitz.

Investors pitched in $20 to each team, but they have to pay it back with interest.

"We have 20 dollars in quarters and 20 dollars in cash," said Gabbi Larsen.

Each team is going to throw in 15 percent of its profit to a local charity and split what's left.

The boys are giving to Hope Animal Rescue while the girls are donating to the Flood Relief.

Lemonade buyers thought it was a smart plan.

"They already want to do lemonade stands and yeah they'll definitely be doing camp one summer," said Deb Hanson.

As young entrepreneurs, they learned it takes a whole team and a bit of planning to make a profit.

The girls won the competition raising $184 while the boys made $114. You can visit www.lemonadedays.org and www.midtownfamily.org for more details about the making of this camp and the history behind the event that began in Texas.
