This is the engine I have been having trouble with. I've found that the problem might be the OHV seals. They might be leaking oil, hence the oil consumption. I'm not sure why it was running rough though. I'm going to retime it, and get everything put back together, than see how she runs.

  • Looks like the oil you were probly using was leaking from the engine due to loose bolts etc. Put the thing back together & replace the bad magneto & use some good HIGH TEMP RTV (Permatex ultra black works good) & for all you LAME ASSES with the negitive comments ... GET A LIFE! you should be trying to help the guy instead of makin fun, bitchin & whinnin.... JERKS!

  • if you notice the oil rings on the bottom of the piston are inline. thats not right they should be stagar180 degrees if not the oil will leak right past the oil ring so stager the oil ring in reinstall and problem solved.

  • whats the matter with canadians

  • tak nie dokońca się z Tobą zgadzam ale jesli chodzi o popychacze to całkowicie nie masz racji jest zupełnie inaczej niz twierdzisz.

  • @8tyman8 7 out of 24 in what? Besides your a Canadian nobody like you anyway

  • @Gigglyable FYI i am one of the big boys bud i place 7 th out of 24 in all of Ontario so i know what i am talking about

  • @8tyman8 So what? Every Tecumseh i own has been beat to fuck and still perform like new. Just because they're out of business it makes them bad? Learn some shit about small engines and then you can talk with the big boys

  • @Gigglyable well Briggs did not go out of business unlike tec

  • You have it out, change the piston rings anyway, you may not see anything wrong with the naked eye, but for oil to get to the top of the piston it has to came past the rings.

  • @Cmcbmx1 LOL, now that was amusing!

  • try sanding the rusty magnitos then oil the fly wheel GOOD LUCK!
