PART 2 OF COMENT:
70% of the whole world's COCOA (for chocolate and its related products) comes from West Africa (Ghana, cote d'ivoire)
lets not even talk about DIAMONDS and other minerals. South Africa alone accounted for 49% of world PLATINUM way back in 1993.
the question is: ARE THE BUYERS REALLY PAYING WHAT THEY SHOULD?
not to disregard corrupt governments who shd be put behind bars to start with.

one solution will be: FAIR TRADE!!!
10 percent of the OIL consumed in the United States is imported from Nigeria. 30 percent of the world's newly discovered oil reserves lie in the Niger delta of West Africa.
Ghana and Mali are the largest hipc GOLD producers in the world with 25% of the world's production.
The question is: ARE THE BUYERS REALLY PAYING WHAT THEY SHOULD?
this is an amazing video.
it makes you think alot!
i just wanted to add:
Every three hours a new mcdonalds restaurant is opened somewhere in the world, in the meantime over 3,600 children have died of starvation!

@littlefarmerchic It's pretty horrific that even as the most dominant species on the planet more thought is put into making money that actually putting money into helping those who actually need it rather than feeding up a nation to the point where obesity is at a constant rise. It actually makes me sick to think about it. Even the smallest contribution to help those in need can make such a massive and drastic change to the lives of those in deprived countries.
