The night spot song from the ill-fated Carrie the Musical. Also spelt "Do Me A Favor".

This is video of the Stratford production dubbed with a soundboard recording from the Broadway production. The cast is the same for both productions, as is the rather questionable staging.

Sally Ann Triplett as Sue
Paul Gygnell as Tommy
Charlotte D'Amboise as Chris
Gene Anthony Ray as Billy
Linzi Hateley as Carrie

The clip with its original soundtrack is here...

  • There used to be awesome rehearsal footage of this number on here--Mondo or anyone else, do you have it?

  • It's still on here, and it is awesome. It's on the channel FanGirlNYC10026. Cheers.

  • I adore Sally Ann Triplett, her voice is amazing! But Billy doing a funky little jig in the background is really distracting...

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I saw Carrie three times and Bway and LOVED it! Granted, the Greek tragedy meets the Kids from Fame approach was bizarre but it is the story of a girl with telekinetic powers - so weird seems okay to me. I thnk the staging/chorepgraphy is incredible. Rock on Debbie Allen. I can watch this over and over and over. And probably will.

  • The more I hear these songs the more I really like them, even when the singer(s) are singing of-key for most of the song. :)

It's a shame that this play was so badly received it would have probably done quite well today. I really want to be in a performance of this musical or see it somewhere. I think most of the songs may not be wonderful, but they're catchy and fun and the duets between Carrie and her mother are captivating.

I'm sure that, with a little polishing this musical could be a gem.

  • The dancing is technically accomplished, song is OK, but the choreography, costumes, sets and lighting all wrong for the story. Doesn't matter how good a performance or staging element is if it doesn't serve the story. These are high school kids. That's the traged: Kids don't see the consequences of what they do. Ifthe costumes were an attempt to make the characters archetypes, they don't. Incomplete transition at the end makes it look like Carrie's in the nightspot, which she'd never be.

  • Okay, the dancing looks neat, the dancers obviously rehearsed well, they are having fun.

But it does not fit whatsoever! I'm sorry, I'm supposed to be paying attention to the pathos of Sues's guilt, but I'm just staring at the dancing Tommy.

  • these people are too old for the roles. they need some regular clothes!

  • If you'd never read the book or seen the movie, you would have no fucking clue what's going on here. Seriously...unitards? Studded leather? The bugfuck insane staging? It all adds up to one big WTF.

  • Don't get me wrong I love the dancing but I get why it just made the weird "greek tragedy on mars" take of this production all the weirderlol
