The Educational Choice Charitable Trust held its annual scholarship dinner on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Co-Sponsored by the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice, the evening was the past and present of school choice in Indiana. WIBC commentator Greg Garrison emceed the event which included addresses by Rep. Mike Pence, Therese Rooney, Al Hubbard, and keynote speaker Ben Stein.

Noted economist, author, and Emmy Award winning actor Ben Stein shared his thoughts of school choice, the economy, and his remembrances of his close family friends, Milton and Rose D. Friedman. Stein also showed his love of humor by delighting the audience with a line-up of jokes that kept the audience laughing.

The evening also included a tribute video to the late J. Patrick Rooney, the founder of the Choice Charitable Trust, and the presentation of the J. Patrick Rooney Scholarship.
