Baby red squirrel, 6 weeks

At 6 weeks old, baby red squirrel has a fluffy squirrel tail, is beginning to eat solid food, and is definitely showing her squirrel personality. A quick startle reflex is an important skill when you are food for hungry hawks and other predators. Since she was orphaned at such a young age, she still looks to humans for food, but she will get less and less human contact as she becomes more independent to prevent her from becoming a nuisance when she is released back into the wild. It will still be several more weeks before this little squirrel is ready for release; she is currently being cared for by a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

damn hes exremeley nervers anxious curious and nervous going nuts in the cage jumping back into the cage when he or she hears other animals that squirrels part feral lol

Did it get released safely? So much bigger than the other vids! Man I wish I lived in the UK - I would totally learn how to do that!
