@DrFox2000 Dear Sir, Kindly send methe pictures and diagrams for making a wind turbine. Thank you, P.Edward.(edward.rosalie@gmail

How much current is it creating?

I will say, building a small unit with only 200 watts has its cost factors and if I was going to design a unit for going off grid, I would build a much larger turbine. When I converted the ceiling fan the costs were about $80. Total cost for material was about $450 so yes a bigger turbine would be worth it. Thanks for your comment.

Just the magnets currently cost about $120 USD. Is it really worth the cost in your opinion? By the time you get done buying everything, batteries, etc, how much will a working system run? I was impressed though how well this vawt spun the fan motor. Good job.

@thrundar the magnets cost me about $44 from walmart. I tried hard to get my stator as even as possible to avoid clogging. Investment wise, a 200 watt VAWT is a waste of money and I would rather build a 1.5kw or larger to make it worth while. Total cost for the 200 watt turbine was around $450 for materials (all off the shelf).
Yes, the 2:1 gear ratio is great, lots of torque and starts well in low winds. Took a bit of playing to get the ratio correct.

As I mentioned on the video, I got the info from youtube.com. I recommend you have a look at muddymuddymuddmann and his videos. Thats who's instructions I used and they work. He has a series of vids showing what you need and its really not that difficult once you do it. Good luck.

This is pretty sweet! I love your vawt and gear system:o)
However it was runing on no load am i right?

@billmalta1 yes you are right, no load at the time of the video. Since then, when testing i got just over 6 amps at regulated 13.6 vdc with a load
