Great tune with impressive guitar playing but I still miss the great song with superb sexy lyrics.

somebody put up the studio version as well please

He's a really nice guy as well. when he performs he's just sharing music he loves which i think is what makes it so nice to listen to. He has to reach with his whole body for some of those combinations! Especially when he goes up on tiptoe like that. Not to mention the totally awesome Dave Swarbrick as well!

One think I love about Martin is, despite his awesomeness, you can still see him staring intently at his hands and biting his tongue whilst playing! Great stuff, hope to see him again soon.

Yeah, there's a clip here somewhere of Carthy doing it. Different, less percussive arrangement, as it has to support his vocals, but damned good.

The Bedmaking is a set of words put to the Cuckoo's Nest tune. One of my favourites - it describes a real threat to the working lives of young women "in service", as my Nan was in the late years of WW1 and the early 20's.

that tuning needs its own custom-gauged set, i'd imagine... i use a CGCGCC tuning and for the bottom and top Cs i have to use a thicker gauge string.... dropping the G down to D, the B down to G and the E down to an A must leave an ordinary set very slack on the top three.... anybody got any ideas what he does for the stringing up in that tuning?

Fucking genius. I've always liked this tune so it's great to see it played by Carthy so well (as if he plays anything badly lol).

Got love this guy's unique style. I've got this on an old album with him, Swarbrick and Diz Dizzley. (I think it's Rags, Reels and Riches)
Never thought I'd here him plugged in!
Been watchin Martin play since I was 15, I'm 52 now! He is the master of the english style, his playing is truly elegant and totally unique.
