@AndyMcNabStab A shitty childhood is a trigger but researching psychopathy should be your main focus.
-
@millercork Lol scary :)
-
@mithilag also, what do you think makes these people have a shitty childhood? bad parents would be the main cause. most bad parents will be too young, why are there so many young parents today? maybe it has something to do with everything being sexualised, or even the fact that teaching someone how to masturbate is part of a 8 year olds curriculum. just a thought.
-
@mithilag and if you think media stories inspire people, then what do you think films like SAW do?
-
@mithilag well, im not talking about politics so much as the effect of a culture on the psychology of its people. its nothing to do with people now having the opportunity to commit these crimes. its a case of, before, theyd have never even considered it. i feel we've been fed a system which cultures people into behaving like this. look at how far music has come in the last 50 years. from elvis being risque to lady gaga dressing in meat and oozing vulgarity from every pore.
-
@mithilag but even though they may be "communist", they still have a self gratifying culture, and still get fed the shit from hollywood, still have bs popstars and so on, just to a lesser extent. and likewise they have less crazy people.
-
@AndyMcNabStab a lot of these people have shitty childhoods, i don't see how that's directly related to a capitalist nation.
a number of killers exist in socialist and fascist nations too.
-
@AndyMcNabStab At a higher rate p/individual, sure. But i don't think it's to do with a capitalist society in terms of politics, but just that our society now allows for the self-determination of most individuals. individuals now have choice and opportunity to commit these crimes, whereas before most peoples lives were taken over by just having to survive the best they could. another reason is that people via media recognise the feelings of these killers and believe it could also work for em

@mithilag holmes and jack the ripper were both about around the turn of the 20th century. they were shocking because killers like those were unheard of before. only when my nan was born people didnt use to lock their houses or windows, they didnt have to worry about the safety of kids either. sure there were wars and murders pre 20th c. for the king, for god, country, whatever, but murderers and cold people of all sorts are being produced today at a rate never seen before.

@AndyMcNabStab Your misinformation is horrendous. Serial killers (as both individual, couples and also in the form of rulers of empires [e.g. British empire]) have existed since writing has allowed for records to be taken. Long before the 20th century, surely.
Try H.H. Holmes, Jack the Ripper, Elizabeth Bathory, etc
I understand your sentiments against capitalist society, but don't get your information muddled up. To speak truth you must know the facts. Not just what helps your point
i should'nt really be watching this with every light out in the house at 4am
