About ChoreRoam 2011
n 2011, ChoreoRoam Europe has received support from European Union Culture Programme 2007-2013 (for 2011-12) and continues as a joint venture between founding partners The Place in London, Operaestate Festival Veneto in Italy, Dansateliers in the Netherlands and also partners since 2009, Zagreb Dance Center in Croatia and Paso a Dos in Spain.

ChoreoRoam is proving to be a highly unique international research and development project, striving to bring choreographers out of the isolation they tend to work within; often leading to the creation of long term professional relationships and collaborations between artists across the continent.

Over the latter half of 2011, nine choreographers will travel to each of the five host countries to participate in workshops, choreographic residencies, debates and festivals designed to stimulate cross-cultural dialogue and interaction. This year for the first time the artists involved have been selected on the basis of an invited application process which allowed the partners a clearer insight into their creative track record and their ability to make a unique contribution to the ChoreoRoam network.
This year they are Moreno Solinas and Deborah Light from the UK, Marco D'Agostin and Alessandro Sciarroni from Italy, Soosan Gilson and Giulio D'Anna from the Netherlands, Marjana Krajac from Croatia, Janet Novas and Pablo Esbert Lilienfeld from Spain. The five partner organisations will contribute resources in the form of studio and theatre space, equipment, staff support and accommodation.
This year the project is also being followed by Rosemary Butcher who will act as lead mentor for the group, ensuring that everyone has their individual pathway through the project as well as looking at the group ecology as it develops.
