This is the main riff and the 2 versions of it. There's is a Part 2 to this video by the way. Sorry if my shadow gets in the way. I would like to do this again with a light in front of me, and I probably will. Oh, the music in the background is my mom playing piano. I didn't think it would come up on here, but I guess it did. Hope you don't mind too much. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

  • It is Squier P-Bass?

  • @SgtZaqq

Sure is. I borrowed it from a friend. It was the easiest bass to play this song on.

  • @bakersman12 and it is really ok for slapping?

  • @SgtZaqq

Uhm, yeah I think so. It's been a while since I last used it, but the action was really low so the strings were pretty close to the neck. I had no problem slapping. It was so easy I would sometimes slap just when I played with my fingers. Although, that was never on purpose.

  • its not too dark, the bass can be seen, and thats what really matters. and ur moms pretty good on piano :-)

I'm sorry if you feel that way. I did that because when I was trying to learn this song, I didn't know much about muting and the like. So there may be others who aren't sure about it. I would watch videos of this song, and nobody explained how to play the song like that. And if they did, they played some notes or a rhythm wrong. Or they played it too fast. That's why I play it slow for a while.

Also, not everybody knows the notes on a guitar.

They ought to, but that's the way it is.

    Thanks man!

  • @SgtZagg yepp they are great for slapping cuz the strings are really close to the bridge so it's really comfortable for you're hand and it just makes the movement easier... although for normal playing it's not that great... =P that's me anyhow i personally prefer other basses..

  • thank you, now my fingers are bleeding :L

  • So just started playing bass about a week ago... friend told me the best way was to pick it... then I learned Take the power back and havnt touched a pick since... now I am dedicating my time to learning to slap... this is probably to advanced for me but it sounds way to cool to give up on! thanks for the lesson!

  • I just wanted 2 say this lesson wont help u if u suck at bass or r willing 2 practice it so that being said great lesson man.

  • @Vizillar2505

Yeah, maybe not, but most of the time he has a 6 string. But hey, if it sounds right to you, and if it helps at all, that's good enough for me. Thanks, and BASSON
