This is the animation we used at the 2008 F1 In Schools World Championships Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. We defended our world collabiration championship title for the second year running and we are proud of being the first school to send 2 teams to the worlds and to be the only team to have won a title 2 years in a row. Team Hybrid is a collabiration between Lochgelly High - Scotland and East Cobb Middel School Georgia US, we had to work together to design, test, analyse and make a 1:25 scale fomula one car, might i add that it is not as easy as it seems being successful takes hard work and dedication. We had 3 months(XLR8 sole representatives of scotland had almost a year and a half) to prepare everthing from a 20 page port folio to a display stand we only finished our display stand once we were in malaysia also having to find printers as the air line had lost our posters and might i add these posters were not cheap we may have had discounts but no they were very expensive. Because of time diffrences we only had one day of practising our verbal presentation(this would be the day before we had to present ourselves) and finish our powerpoint. although everything was very hectic and slightly stressfull (stress in a good way) we managed to pull it off and beat off all the other teams from around the world to come 13th over all that might no seem good but for a collabiration team it is and the other team from our school came 5th over all so out of all the countries in the world and over 250 million students we came in on the top 80. this video gives an idea of the things we learned while in the compatition (some of this stuff you dont even learn until universty for example texture mapping in bryce and creating this animation)

this animation has over 600 components all made on 3D modelling package (PRO/Desktop) and i mean every single component even the screws, nuts and bolts even wires they were all made by me(Stacey) with a little help from Andrew for the Launch pod. being rendered a 30 frames a second 1080p HD. it took along time to render a very long time, we broke it down in to sections so that it took less time but one part that had volumetric lighting which is purely a specular effect was going to take about 4 months to render and the computer wanted to melt into a pool of ecto plasm goo lol.
