For all those out there who are worried about this project i have compiled a video of some of the facts i think will reassure you and show that it is not as terrifying as it seems.
I was so terrified i done lots of research and realised in my own mind that this is just as safe as a computer monitor.

For more information please visit CERN's official site: http://public.web.cern.ch/Public/en/LHC/Safety-en.html

Then my site which has completely nothing to do with this video, i just thought it would be a good time to advertise it.

  • I would like to ammend that last post somewhat: resulting energy to momentum instead of kinetic energy to momentum, terrestrial looks better then 'terrestrail', by 'sent away' I ment results could leave our vicinity if they have low enough interaction probability so as to pass though hundreds of miles of soil and atmosphere and keep on going away. Radiation's health effects weren't predicted, they were observed after the nuclear sciences began. The LHC experiments have no natural precident.

  • The goal of LHC is to tune collisions to increase the ratio of resulting kinetic energy to momentum. I strongly doubt the ratios being obtained or potentially to be obtained ever occur in natural particle interations. Terrestrail particles have effectively 0 momentum on the scale of these events. Cosmic ray particles necessarily have momentum in proportion to energy (square root of, that is). Therefor natural high energy interactions result in high momentum results - low ratio and sent away too.

  • I should also point out that it is estimated to be not 50/50 chance, in-fact they are saying more of a 1 in 50,000,000 chance and that if a microscopic black-hole were to be created it would evapourate in billionth of a billionth of a second. The newspapers and scare-mongeres should be ashamed by the fear they have spread. A teenager in India actually committed suicide through fear of all of this. I wish everyone wouldn't talk like this.

  • For everyone who is concerend about this whole ordeal, read the LSAG saftey form on the CERN's website, I read it and it sure helped me relax about it. The vast majority or the scientific community think that this doomsday theory is nonsense and is started by people who don't really have the logic of physics. It is scare-mongering, and you shouldn't be afraid, it's just to sell news-papers. These collisions happen millions of times a day naturally and even at much higher energies.

  • Heres the real deal, Microscopic Black Holes haven't been prooven. Idiots think it is

  • Hmmm i guess you could look at it like a 50/50 chance. But i wouldn't worry because i don't think that humans have advanced to the stage of actually being able to recreate a natural phenomena of that size. Besides, these kind of reactions are happening all the time and not killing us so i don;t think this has much chance of either. W

Well the test run went fine and we are still here so...lol

  • Very good point you make there. For some reason made us feel little better about this ordeal. Thanks. Thou I wonder if that doesn'nt just make it a 50 50 chance in a way, I guess not...

  • Is this a video or a low resolution article that says "Go go go, before the time runs out"?

  • I can't even read that.

  • Please understand the stupidity of saying "Its all based on a theory so it could destroy the world" when someone says this they make both a point and prove themselves wrong at the same time. If the worse outcome is based on a theory, then therefore, so is your concern. If you say their experiments are all based on a theory, you must accept that your concerns and questions are also that...based on a theory!
