Sound only. First Manchester also had several ex Yorkshire metrobuses, nearly all of which were in appalling condition. You can hear the state of the hubs on this one from this run on a 355 between Uppermill and Waterhead. Another double barrel load of nostalgia as the route and bus are both no longer with us

  • UK registered number F605XWY MCW Metrobus is now in service in Sri Lanka. Daily I travel home in the afternoon by this or F604XWY. It is also in service here.

  • Red and white? Wasn't this delivered in Yorkshire Rider livery, or did it carry an advert livery?

    Very rough indeed!

  • This particular bus is still with us, as (if I remember rightly), it was exported to Sri Lanka in the wake of the tsunami disaster in December 2004, along with it's sister, F604 XWY and several others. The hub bearings do sound rough. Quite sad really, I used to go to school in Leeds on them, and remember it when it was red + white, brand new in 1988 :-(
