北アルプスに「春」の軌跡 アルペンルート、除雪進む

　富山県の北アルプス・立山黒部アルペンルートで、４月中旬の開通に向け、除雪作業が進んでいる。上空から見ると、白い山肌を蛇行しながら延びる道がくっきりと浮かび上がっ­た。
　除雪するのは、高原バスが走る美女平（標高９７７メートル）―室堂（同２４５０メートル）間の約２３キロ。深い雪の下にある道路を正確に把握するため、全地球測位システム­（ＧＰＳ）を使ってブルドーザーなどで掘り進む。今年の積雪は平年並みという。４月１７日には全線開通し、高さ２０メートル近くの雪の壁の間を歩ける「雪の大谷ウオーク」­が５月末まで開催される。（2010年3月14日、富山県立山町、朝日新聞社ヘリから撮影）

That area is famous for heavy weather in winter and for the sightseeing route to one of the biggest hydroelectric dam in japan named "4th Kurobe Dam" between spring and fall.

Another tourism feature in this place is "wall of snow" made by ploughing like this video.
