@Andybato But if I do happen to get hold of the original cut? DVDs play at 25fps in Europe, so no problem there (if that's what you meant, isn't it like 30fps in the US?). Anyway, yeah I know what you mean about being in the right mood for the Coens' movies. And since you do suggest me to not watch it at night I will watch it at night, hehe :D if it's scary in some way, then that's great. Not many scary movies nowadays IMO.
Have you seen True Grit, thhough? If you have, is it good?

@MaybeYesNo90 It may be hard trying to find the original cut. I'm from the U.S. and I bought the director's cut on DVD cheap for $7 at a Target store. The funny thing is that the original version is 1 hour and 39 minutes, but the director's cut is 1 hour and 36 minutes! I don't think 3 minutes is gonna affect much, but since you live in the Faroe Islands, it may be different. You really have to be in a mood to watch any Coen brothers' movies, and I may not suggest watching it at night! D:

In order to get funding for Blood Simple, the Coens shot a demo trailer as if it were a finished product. Is that what this trailer is, or was this compiled after the film was actually shot?

No, this is the theatrical trailer edited after the film was finished. That promo trailer (starring Bruce Campbell) has never been leaked, and probably never will be.
