@Eloaene ok. well obviously there's difference of oppinion here, which I'll respect but I'm sure if you actually visit the site, of whom certain out-standing members of are supported for the purpose of, by Prince Charles, you might begin to see things otherwise.Sure the clans aren't political,but they still have their purpose which is told at that site. They still have meetings at the Scottish Parliment and they are still upheld /federally enforced laws concerning clans by the Lord Lyon etc.

Visit the Articles tab and read in full the "Presentation by Robert McWilliam at Clan Convention" and the talk titled "Blood or Land?" The latter one was very interesting to me considering the differing perspectives of Clan members throughout the world butregardless of if we are part of Clan by "blood or land" or even ideal, we're still connected by Scots Clan. In many ways, America is more Scottish than we realize

Many Scots living abroad come from families who were forced either by the Hieland Clearances or by the English to move overseas.. Some Scots who were fighting for YOUR freedoms in Scotland were forced to labor and serve English colonies in America and their families are still here. I can't believe you'd so brazenly abandon people of your own blood who may have had little or no choice in the matter.
