Ishq-e-Hussain A.S. - A new film produced by www.kauthartv.com This is a story of a man who wants to go for ziayarat of Imam Hussain A.S. at Karbala but is unable to go because he has no money. He is a great lover of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam and Ahlebayt Alaihim-ussalaam. He wants to give his kidney to be able to raise money for ziyarat.

but it is well within the reach of the filmmaker to depict the actress in hijab rather than without hijab...keeping in mind that such actress could have been used who would prefer hijab

The filmmakers are religious people and are fully aware of the importance of Hijab. We had a detailed brainstorming regarding hijab of the actresses hired for the movie. Following points were considered in the meeting:

1. It is haraam for a woman to come without hijab. But still it is the prerogative of the actress to do hijab or not to do hijab. It is not haraam to video shoot/ show on video / view on video a woman who does not generally do hijab.....

2. It is ideal to show a woman with Hijab. Idealistic scenarios sound very good in theory. But are not always possible.

3. Time was short for production and it was a big hurdle to get a good actress who is comfortable with hijab.

4. When an actress does not do hijab generally and is asked to act in a film with Hijab then she is not able to act properly. Quality of act goes down.

5. The main actress is generally shown at home in the film. If we show her in Hijab even at home then it looks very unrealistic.

6. Farhana Maqsood is shown at one time as taunting Abbas as to why he sacrificed so much for Karbala. It is unexpected of a woman doing full hijab to act in such a way.

7. Try to achieve everything and you end up achieving nothing- Hazrat Ali a.s. Our focus of the film was love of AHlebait A.s. & not Hijab, hence we did not try to put everything into one film.

8. Keeping all women in Hijab would have made the film heavy for those who do not observe hijab. We have to be mild on issues and welcome people towards us on some common grounds (like love of Ahlebayt a.s.) even if we are quite away from each other on some other grounds like hijab. Instead of making muslims watch films that are totally unislamic, we should compromise on certain issues and shift the viewers to films that give them some good values....

....We should not try to give viewers an injection to get all the good values on earth together. This will never happen except in our imaginations.

9. We are in Pakistan and any assumption based on a country say like Iran is not justifiable. It is very easy in Iran to have full Hijab woman acting throughout the film. But it is not the same in Pakistan. We have many hurdles including actresses, viewers & channels.

The main reason of Imam Hussein reveloution was to save islam, islam applications.. prayers and Hijab mainly~!

Liberties with a film about Imam Hussein. Good thinking about going mainstream, but before trying to get "big" maybe concentrate more on the actual storyline than the hijab, which when put into context with Imam Hussein and his sacrafice for Islam and its values, would probably be more mandatory than your desire to go "mainstream".

There is always a price for selling out in creative works. Just look at American Musicians that make it and the shit quality of their work. Pandering != creativity.
