SSG James S. Prpich, SSG Kray Locklear and SGT Timothy Massina all MLRS Instructors for 1-78 FA train a group of Soldiers from AIT Class 4-11 on how the reload of an MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) is performed. 1-78 FA MLRS Crew reloads an MLRS while students from 13M AIT Class 4-11 watches how the reload takes place.
Those were all of my instructors haha.. SSG Locklear was so damn funny

@Mike32587 The 13B (conventional artillery) can reload faster, but can only fire one round at a time, most of them need to set up first before they can fire. It's also alot less accurate with shorter range (relatively speaking). Plus it takes alot more people, and the rounds are alot heavier. 13M can do in a few minutes what 13B would need all day for...

@Mike32587 Negative. The greatest benifits to having the MLRS/HIMARS is our ability to fire farther, faster, more accurately, and with more ordnance than conventional artillery, and the abilitty to setup/relocate quickly. The rounds are alot more expensive though, and the MLRS/HIMARS cant hit targets relatively close, plus when the rockets fire, everyone knows where we are.

Considering how long it takes to reload an MLRS after a salvo, I wonder if its more efficient to just field standard artillery.
