I feel you. when I have my fro picked out, people stare at me so much. Some point at me, laugh, or just look shocked.... it can be really uncomfortable when you know so many people are looking at your hair. For the most part I get nothing but compliments from those who actually say something to me.

I always get a ton of people who touch my hair without asking!!! When I wash and go curls everywhere they look or comment but when I comb it out in a fro people feel the need to touch it. Ahhhh. Not just pat but grab a hand full and pull. It takes all I have not to swing in them

you must live in the South never in NY have people hated on fro plus they were old white men stuck in their ideas of what beauty is. and yeah men ( all that I know anyway) would rather you own hair over weaves and natural over relaxed.

I had a moment earlier this evening where my (white) neighbor's daughter told me she liked my hair better when it was long, straight, and curly (micros). She also made a comment of how she dosen't get how people can leave the house with their hair "all over their head" (this was a while back). Anywhoo.... I simply looked at her, smiled and told her to get use to my afro. It's here to stay:)

I had a similar issue. I had my fro all blown out and this lady in the store just pulled on the back of my hair, and I turned around like, "what in the" and this women said she was so surprised it was real, and then she pulls out a hair tie hands it to me and said, "people are more comfortable with black hair up," I was so offended. What do you say to that?
