Nihal Singh- Alap and Bandish in Raag Bhairo, Teen Taal, 16 Matras

The alap was improvised and didn't come out exactly right, and there were a couple of general mistakes.

The instrument used is known as the dilruba, Persion for "heart-stealer."
It is a traditional Sikh instrument that combines the fingerboard and frets of the sitar with the bow and goatskin sound box of the sarangi. The dilruba is a close relative of the taus, esraj, and taar shehnai.

The file size had to be greatly reduced for it to fit, so the dilruba looks like the miniature model... Enjoy and please leave feedback!
