When Alexander wished to compete and his Greek competitors tried to exclude him "that foreigners were not allowed" to take part. First, notice that it's not Herodotus that says that the Macedonian kings were of Greek nationality, but the Macedonian kings as they themselves claim. Why is it then, no Spartan, Athenian or Argive felt constrained to prove to the others that he and his family were Helenes? But Macedonian kings seem hard put to argue in behalf of their Hellenic ancestry in the fifth century B.C. Even if one were to accept Herodotian stories about Alexander were true....cont.

But..following Herodotus..the stade- race competitors at Olympia thought the Macedonian was a foreigner (Hdt. 5.22: barbaros) Secondly, for his effort on behalf of the Greek cause against the Persians Alexander is known as "Philhellene". Now this is kind of odd to call a Greek a "friend of the Greeks". "This title", writes Borza, "is normally reserved for non-Greeks".

@makedoncheto Do you know about grandfather of Nikola Gruevski,father of his father?He was Greek,his name was Grouios Nicholas,from the village Achlada,Florina,who was seriously injured in Albanian-Greek forehead against Italians and bowed to 19/11/1940 in Military Hospital of Florina,at age 29.His mother is Μoglenitovlacha.His real surname is Grouios,his father change the surname to Gruefski and acquired citizenship.

@makedoncheto Ιs very easy to recognize an Albanian but you can't.Greeks have farther snout,bigger eyes,bigger mouth,more round head.Albanians have flatter,long face,with smaller eyes,I'm not like Albanian,I have not any relationship with Albanian, none of my relative is Albanian,only one uncle is foreign-German,but he is husband of my aunt,we haven't same blood,all in my genealogical tree are Greeks.You are off topic,the problem is that you have not any relationship with real Macedonians.

@makedoncheto I know you didn't told about Africans but your theory is same bullshit! You have many Albanians in your country and you can't see the differences.I have the same problem,I can't distinguish a Fyromian guy from Albanian but I know they have different characteristics.For example Albanians have more flatter,long face,with smaller eyes than Greeks.Some Turks are like Greeks but Albanians have many differents,ιn Greece we distinguish them from afar,is very easy to recognize a foreign.
