This is possibly the worst and most over priced two star hotel on the planet. We had to walk up five flights of stairs down hallways that have brown carpet on the doors and walls with no elevator only to reach an ugly stuffy 1930s decorated room with no a/c. the t.v. remote didn't work and the telephone made loud fuzzy noises when you pick it up. the night/early morning asian man was the most useless employee i have ever seen the night before we left paris he assured us he would arrange for us to have a cab in the morning and took our room number and everything, the next morning when we asked him to call for us he simply told us to walk to the bastille monument to pick up a cab... which is about a mile and a half walk through crowded central paris with our luggage. they are very stupid considering that isn't even the most convenient or likely place to pick up a cab the best spot would have been the gare de lyon. i hate this place and the people who work there. i hope they read this. somebody needs to come rethink the two star rating. why do the pictures they show u on the internet look nothing like the rooms we saw?

*Note: Exposed wires hanging from the ceiling near the stairs...

  • if you can afford cabs, then maybe get a better hotel.

  • i think i will stay here.

  • this hotel is located in the centre of the city and it's REALLY cheap, so what did you want to get for such prize and localisation?

  • And also, hotel workers speak English not just to serve "spoiled" Brits and Americans, but people from all over the world. People from other parts of Europe, from Asia, etc mostly speak English when traveling, no? I've been living in Paris for several years now, and to suggest that people in the tourist industry don't need English is laughable - even McDonald's employees in Paris speak it!

  • Ugh, this hotel looks disgusting! I read reviews of it, both French and English, complaining of bedbugs - shudder. I was looking for a place for my family to stay while they visit - certainly not here!

Also, ignore spike834. Probably just another expat who condescends to all tourists because he thinks he's better. But I've certainly stayed in my share of cheap 2 star hotels in big cities, and there's a difference between staying in a cheap room and a filthy one. This hotel is not typical.

  • Also DHER! You were in a very OLLLD city meaning not every building was built after 1940 and installed with an elevator. I'm sure you could have offered a staff member 20 or 30 Euros to carry your bags upstairs if it was such a hassle. Next time take a vacay at a Hilton in Mexico and leave the real travelling to unspoiled Americans who appreciate and other cultures and can handle walking up stairs!

  • American teenagers LOL. Is this your first time abroad? For the price this hotel looks like what you get in a very expensive international city. In fact it looks quite common. No not everyone outside of home speaks English and in fact the French expect you to at least TRY to speak French. If you were back home and someone came up to you speaking French and was angry that you couldn't respond how would you react? You'd laugh at them that's how!
