According the U.S. State Department, the World Health Organization, and UNICEF, the world's greatest infectious killer is not malaria, AIDS, or TB, but poop. An estimated 2.6 billion people, about 40% of the world's population, including 1 billion children, have no access to toilets of any kind and must practice open defecation. The result is a continual pandemic of intestinal afflictions that kill 2 million people a year.

"Vanguard," airing Mondays at 9/8c on Current TV, is a no-limits documentary series whose award-winning correspondents put themselves in extraordinary situations to immerse viewers in global issues that have a large social significance.

It's ridiculous for huge cities to be so crowded, for only 2 or 3% of land on earth, is covered with cities. So with proper land development, building additional cities and towns and suburbs upon suburbs, there can be made plenty of room for human pops to grow naturally "wild," so that far more people can experience life, without having to live so much "on top of one another" nor too crowded? But I do agree with crowded people having their traditionally big families anyway

  • If America really is concerned about Energy, He should come to these countries and collect these free fuel. No one is stopping them. We are exhausting the petrodollars, lets cash on some $#!tdollars.......................

  • @aluisious

Well that's why big cities need more toilets. The open fields to go defecate in, are being filled in with human housing as far as the eye can see. I very much agree with embracing full natural human birthrate unhindered. But why is there not more provision for the natural increase God designed? Because evil "family planning" pushers think tossing the magic condom in poor people's faces, is the answer to all gov corruption?

Allow cities to grow, add electricity, toilets.

  • dig up a hole and shit in it.

  • I feel lucky to be in the USA...

  • I would really like to get involved with this project, can someone email me more info on what I can do to help out?- NTA

  • @jsch40 it was funny to me. Quit being a bitch!

  • @ChellerChris It is certainly not laughing matter when diseases strike you that have the origination in conditions as you seem having fun watching. Maybe you should live for a couple years in the same conditions and if you survive you can lough about it than.

  • @StrixNoctis This works fine in villages. However I don't think you appreciate the problem of overpopulation in cities. In places like Lagos thousands of people are living on rafts floating on water. There isn't even ground anywhere to dig into. I've been to Manila, where tin huts are built to three stories on top of each other. You've got thousands of people living in an area a couple hundred feet square. Where are they going to dig a deep hole in the middle of the city?

  • @aluisious Apparently not everyone does know you're not supposed to shit where you eat (or drink) or they wouldn't be having the problems they do.

Regarding the composting human waste in holes in the ground, not a hole in random places for every dump; that wouldn't be bright. People used to dig deep holes for outhouses then, after those were filled, they covered them, and dug other holes nearby, sometimes in rows. It only takes about a half a year for the waste to compost.
