Confirmed top prop rpm @ 2890(with 6:1 planetary ratio and 140 psi)25mm bore and 1-1/2 stroke. Articulating rod arrangement was designed with "master/slave rod compensated timing"(You rotary/radial engine freaks know what I'm talkin' 'bout and YES, it does make a difference). Helical ABS gears are designed with Autocad and Inventor (3D) software and built with a Stratasys FDM3000(fused deposition modeler)along with the nose cone which has embedded fasteners(10-32 nut and flat washer to prevent thrust of 2800 rpm prop from pulling away). The FDM system is the only prototyping system capable of embedding fasteners. The lasered clear and mirrored acrylic is designed with Autocadd 2D software and cut with a Universal X30 CO2 laser. Engine runs slow with a cheap $10.00 aquarium pump from Walmart.

  • Man thats a sick motor. What did it cost to make this or you guys cnc'd it all your self??

  • @SmoKKeyThaShit ,yeah, we cnc'd it ourselves. It is an older student project replaced by the Miniature hit-n-miss engine, the "222"(2.22 cubic inches). you can see several of those vids too. Thanks for the positive comment. Later, Rick.

  • This is beautiful!

  • @captainsurfcaster , thanks for the kind comment. Later, Rick.

  • It may be more efficient to run it on 100% compressed nitrogen, but all I have available is 78% compressed Nitrogen. Later, Rick.

  • Hmmm...to know the answer you have to know how much air it uses in the first place! Its a nice piece of kit but I dont understand the point of it.

  • @UBenjy , thanks for the kind comment. Later, Rick.

  • @doktorbimmer Huh... no I was not familiar with this type of engine... I thought it was just an unusual take on a WWII Radial. Thanks for teaching me something.

  • @edomalley1 I guess youve just never seen a Fokker DR1 before?

youtube this> Oberursel UR-II Rotary Engine or this >Le Rhone Gnome

  • @edomalley1 No, I mean Rotary engines, same as this but without the planetary gears.

Radials have just the crankshaft spinnng like most other engine types.

  • @doktorbimmer I'm sure you meant "radial" not "rotary"

  • @doktorbimmer right, but most of them used a different architecture than this that did not involve the cylinders rotating.

  • @edomalley1 Many WW1 aircraft used Rotary engines, they flew just fine.
