You know, the point is that THIS happens to all the couples all the time. I believe that it's important to support those two people who undeniably love each other (and you can't honestly say that Nick ans Bridget don't, can you?) and simply wait for their yet reconciliation;)))) It will come. Nick has to be redeemed as I don't think that the writers would want to destroy his leading character so completely.

If Nick marries Katie and they raise their child well, that will redeem him. I sincerely hope that's what the writers want, also.

The truth is that the writers want what makes the ratings go up. Nick and Katie are the most hated couple in the history of this show. Marriage, happily ever after? Sorry, ain't gonna happen. If they wanted stability for Nick they would have stuck to Nicket.

@chigsee: Bridget got knocked up by Owen. You shouldn't act like all she did was cheat. The baby not being Nick's was the end of them. Nick didn't sign up to be a stepdad to his stepdad's kid. No husband is gonna want a wife who is pregnant with another man's brat. Not to mention his mother's husband. Bridget is the hypocrite. She gave Nick hell over the Katie crap and then turns around and does the same thing with Owen. All those lectures about how wrong it is to cheat and lie. What a fake.

This show is DISGUSTING! I can't believe Bridget goes back to the cheating Nick. I know she cheated with Owen and that was wrong but for someone who knows more than most on cheating Nick's reaction was ridiculous. His mother was able to forgive Owen, but the perennial cheater can't forgive his wife!
