@ThatOneGuy1027 Good for you, but if you haven't noticed, the drill isn't shot blocking, but working on the power diving

@DanLFC8 depending on the situation, you are meant to either dive backwards or forward. Backward diving is for tough situations such as lobbed balls and any other over head balls. While forward diving is the main technique. You dive forward to cover as much angle as possible 45 degree step and dive just like you do when facing a penalty. Though like I said, it all depends on the position of the striker and how he shoots the ball.

@WhiteKnightGaming type "specific training for goalkeeper" by LuisH067. There is a footage that will answer your concern. From keeper to keeper. I'm not being let to type url.

Get It Get It Ahh Good Buddy

@WhiteKnightGaming It does sound as if you are not diving correctly. You may need to alter the way you dive. Work on your technique until it no longer hurts to dive.

@tonydibs007 I have an inury on my right knee from diving to my right but i dont have the same problem on my left. I think its a habit with diving cause im always landing directly on my knee cap. Recently i injured my right knee the worst its ever been and it swelled twice the size of my normal knee cap size and i had alot of bruzing up my leg. Am i diving wrong?

@ddresidentevil2 haha, at my field i have to play on sand, 'cause all the grass is ripped away :(

Good training technique, chaining some good movements improving agility, explosive power, reactions and timing all the crucial areas for a goalkeeper

is it me or does that trainer sound like cpt. Price form call of duty lol
i thought your meant to dive foward as a goalkeeper and not dive back to your goal?

@DanLFC8 In the above diving, you can see that if i were to dive forward, the ball may go over my head

@tonydibs007 i was just wondering because i have to do goalkeeping training at college and the coach has been teaching us to dive foward but i was saying the same things to him like you have to me and he said it makes the save more easier diving foward but i struggle to do that since ive been diving backwards for years. I still dive backwards in shots because i feel more comfortable making the save that way than i do diving fowards.

@DanLFC8 Forward diving is important, so continue to train in that way. But also remember that it doesn't matter how you save a shot, as long as you keep it out of the goal.
