hydric acid is water. It was a joke, hope you don't mind, but if you inhale it (water) you die.I don't know where you live but here in US there are no small units that use ammonia and the old ones they didn't use any compressors they had either an electrical resistor or a propane heater element.

@scaloi They still make new ammonia/ water (don't know what hydric acid is) gas powered refrigerators. It is true that ammonia is poisonous but the ammonia gas fired absorption refrigerators has very little ammonia and a very low probability of leakage. The deaths cause by leaking ammonia refrigerators were due to pure ammonia compressor (electric powered) refrigerators leaking at the compressor shaft seal (and due to the large amount of ammonia in the system.

Old refrigerators and some camping trailers had this system. They don't use it anymore because it was using ammonia and hydric acid that can kill if inhaled.
