@ISamuelII to be honest no- i remember the scene from the movie and the book however fear and lothing was half true and half bullshit-once again a reference to a teenage runaway is proof of nothing especially when it comes from book that has numerous made up stories and tall tales- thats what thompson was brilliant at- mixing reality with the absurd- but like always anyone could be child molestor- even [people we respect so well never know unless proof is offered- all there is is heresay

@ISamuelII decamp hs said the witness never visually identified thompson- he was just told the mans name was hunter thompson- nick brynt completely dismisses the claim- i think it was an attempt to ensnare thomspsons reputation in a sordid way to discredit his exposure of political corruption etc- there is no proof to the claim though its still a possibility i suppose

@salvadory When do DeCamp say that? I realize the name of Thompson was hearsay, but in the realms of that book he wrote... So what happened to the painter girl in the book? Did the Doctors lawyer do more than play with a grapefruit in the tub?

@ISamuelII i have both books - the hunter claim has been debunked by decamp and nick bryant- the witness never saw hunter thompson- he was just told the mans name was hunter thompson- the witness didnt verify thompsons identity- it was most likely an attempt to stiffle thompsons anti republican anti reagan bush writings of the period- thompson was almost certainly not the man-
