Mine is made in 1984, I know that because the first number of the serial is a 4. I don´t know about the Maxon and I can´t find info about it... but probably is similar because this vintage Ibanez pedals were all made by Maxon in the 80`s.

Dunno nothing about the year of production, because back label is missing on my pedal. So, I don't have serial number. Maybe this number is somewhere inside, but I don't have intention to open it.

What year is your pedal?
IT is my understanding a Maxon SM01 is the same as an Ibanez SM9... but perhaps there was some time in the transition where they called it a maxon SM9?

this looks like the ibanez sm9.. i have a Maxon SM-01...appears to be the same as the ibanez sm9 does this wear the maxon or hte ibanez name...
my maxon is from 1982.... how does it compare to the SM9

Unfortunately, I've never tried Maxon SM-01, never had a chance. But if it works like SM9, it's awesome :) of course.
