  • A very special song that brings a flood of special memories and emotions. From the sound-track of my lost youth.

  • Today I discovered that one of these women slices vegetables with me at the soup kitchen. Amazing.

  • I played drums for them in 1965 for a concert in the Quad Cities, when I was at Augustana College. It was a great experience for a young drummer. Rehearsal went well, and we played a nice show. Their harmonies were wonderful, as was their playing. The only downer was the promoter stiffed me and the bass player...not that I hold a grudge, of course. Still, a nice memory.

  • In the early 60s I discovered the Bitter End and the Womenfolk. I would drive down from my up-town apartment and sit there with my partners enjoying the music and the ambiance. After awhile I started dating Joyce James who has since passed on, as, regretably, have my partners. I'm now 75 with great memories of the ladies in The Womenfolk. I understand that music tastes change, but thanks to YouTube the meories linger on. What a pleasure and a treasure.

  • I love this song and it is the best version. My sister and I sang this with the harmony when we were in high school.

  • gefällt mir sehr (i like it) greatings from germany

  • @emico2008 Your mother?congratulations!

  • I loved this group in the 1960s. How I wish there were more of their songs on Youtube.

  • Would be nice if someone uploaded " Sail Away Lady" from their initial self-titled album.

  • @emico2008 - where is that? My father passed a couple years ago and this was his favorite group. Over time all of his albums got too scratched to play and he couldn't find replacements. They were lost to us for decades. I was able to find three albums from some guy in the UK and had them burned on to CDs for him for Christmas. He knew his time was limited and he was thrilled he was to hear them again. Would love to tell the Womenfolk what they meant to my father. Thank you all.

  • I was around back then but somehow missed these ladies. They sound great!
