hexapotamus is the strategy game I am developing with Microsoft XNA. I have made a lot of improvements since the last video, namely gamestate managing, new camera, and message handling.

Yeah, the game rules are a simplified version of risk. All of the territories are random, both their shape and position on the board.
In this video I am adding territories using the control pad, but in some more recent videos you can see that each player starts with a fixed number of territories depending on the board size.

is this at all like risk? are the boards randomly generated?

Thanks, I have to write the AI and then local gameplay will be finished and ready for testing. If you are a creators club member, would love to get your thoughts on the game when I post the demo.

Looks promising! Seems to handle well and smoothly. I'm a huge fan of strategic games, hope to see much more of this.
