Nine-year-old Landon Lafond and Edmonton Oiler Fernando Pisani share their experiences with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) to help raise awareness during Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Month. There are over 200,000 Canadians living with Crohn's and colitis - one in 160 people, which probably means you know someone living with IBD. Please contact the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada at www.ccfc.ca for more information.
I was diagnosed at age 22. I couldn't imagine being affected at age 9. You're an inspiration, Landon.

I was just diagnosed within the last 1 yr 1/2. I didn't know that Mike Holmes' daughter had it. Good to know he supports this disease.

Good job Landon. You are a strong little boy. Your family really cares about you, and you know that. I hope they find a cure. Stay strong and always keep your hear up. :)

As a hockey player, that's got to be an embarrassing reason to get scratched.

My 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with crohn's in 2007. We almost lost her in 2008. It is very hard to see your child go through this. We belong to the Hamilton Chapter of the CCFC and with more donations and research, we will find a cure so no other child has to go through this.
