@allforable janiissaries were trained by Turks, they trained by Turkoman military leaders. Turks gathered them because Turkish popualiton were just 2 million during the 15. century. and Turks dont like the fight on foot :) ethnic Turks always fought on horsebak, just like the Spahis, Qapukulu and Tatars. :)

and about janissaries, yes they were superb foot soldiers. we gathered them from different nationalities and we trained them! because in that time Turkish population were 2 million! But the Spahis are main core of the Turkish army. they were ethnic Turks and cavalries. they spent their life to military training and battles!
